Our Co-Founders’ Study Abroad Journey

Experience isn't our credential — it's our foundation.

Our Story

Udwise was built by people who have lived the international student journey themselves. Our co-founders studied across Nepal, India, the United States, South Korea, and the United Kingdom, and bring that lived experience into every student conversation.

Preetika Roka and Aditya Goenka first met as high school students in Nepal. Years later, after studying and working abroad, they both returned home and reconnected over a shared concern: more Nepali students than ever were leaving the country for higher education, but many were doing so without enough guidance, preparation, or long-term planning.

They saw students choosing destinations, universities, and courses without fully understanding whether those choices matched their academic strengths, career goals, financial situation, or future ambitions. Udwise was created to change that.

At Udwise, we do not believe in sending students abroad just for the sake of sending them abroad. We believe in helping students build stronger profiles, make informed decisions, and choose pathways that support their long-term growth.

During and after her MBA, Preetika worked with Prime Pacific Connections, eventually serving as Marketing Manager. After returning to Nepal in 2022, she worked as a consultant for Yacca Investment, supporting a group of businesses across manpower, hospitality, and early-stage investment.

Preetika also founded Ro Studio, a home goods company that works with local artisans to reimagine traditional Nepali materials and crafts for modern homes. Through Ro Studio, she aims to support local craftsmanship, encourage small-scale manufacturing in Nepal, and help preserve skills that are at risk of disappearing.

Having studied in Nepal, the United States, and South Korea, Preetika understands both the excitement and uncertainty of studying abroad. Through Udwise, she hopes to help students approach the process with clarity, confidence, and honest guidance.

She later earned her MBA from the University of California, Riverside’s A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management. Alongside her studies, Preetika worked as a grader for an undergraduate marketing course and later served as a teaching assistant for a business writing course. She was also Director of Communications for the AGSM Student Association, contributing to the academic, professional, and social life of the graduate business community

Preetika Roka completed her schooling in Nepal before moving to the United States to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Pace University. During her undergraduate years, she also completed a study-abroad program at Korea University in Seoul and gained professional experience through internships with Finn Jewelry, Daun Curry Design Studio, and Araks.

Aditya Goenka, Co-Founder

Aditya Goenka studied at schools in Delhi, including The Study and DPS RK Puram, before joining Lincoln School Nepal, all along ranking among the top three students in his grade.

He earned a BA (Hons) in Economics from Richmond, The American International University in London, graduating Summa Cum Laude with First Class Honors. After a proficiency test on his first day at university, he was appointed as a peer tutor and teaching assistant. He went on to receive awards for Best Economics Student, Best Mathematics Student, Best Graduating Student, and Best Peer Tutor, while making the Dean’s List every year and serving as Secretary of the university’s Mathematics Society.

Aditya also completed a summer program in Latin at King’s College London, where he was one of only two students to earn a distinction in a cohort largely made up of students with prior language backgrounds. Beyond academics, he interned at Qoot and volunteered with Oxfam and PETA.

After receiving offers from Kings's College, Cambridge, Columbia, and LSE, Aditya pursued an MPhil in Planning, Growth and Regeneration at the University of Cambridge. He has also completed Oxford continuing education courses in areas including inequality, social welfare, sustainable development, and Viking history.

After returning to Nepal, Aditya co-founded Vetiver Nepal with his father, promoting nature-based solutions for land restoration, climate resilience, carbon sequestration, and sustainable livelihoods. His broader experience spans real estate development, hospitality, renewable energy, economic development, vehicle leasing, and sustainability.

Having studied in Nepal, India, and the United Kingdom, Aditya brings an interdisciplinary perspective to student guidance. Through Udwise, he hopes to encourage students to aim high, explore widely, and use education to solve meaningful real-world problems.

Our own journeys taught us that studying abroad is not just about admission. It is about preparation, fit, confidence, and purpose.

A strong university choice should support a student’s academic ability, personal growth, career direction, financial reality, and long-term vision. That is why Udwise combines study abroad counseling with profile-building support, honest guidance, and long-term planning.

We help students ask better questions, build stronger applications, and choose universities that make sense not only for where they are today, but for who they hope to become.
